Har Ki Pauri Haridwar
Har Ki Pauri at haridwar was constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhrithari. The most important ghat within Har ki Pauri is Brahmakund. A majority of present ghats were largely developed in the 1800s.
The evening Aarti at dusk offered to Goddess Ganga at Har-Ki-Pauri is an enchanting experience for all the devotees. A spectacle of sound and colour is seen when, after the ceremony, pilgrims float diyas and incense on the river, praying for their deceased ancestors.
The ghat of har ki paudi is regarded the most sacred and auspicious point to bathe in the Ganga during the Kumbh held after 12 years and Ardh Kumbh after 6 years.
Millions of people from all round the world do make a point to attend the evening prayer along with the holy dip on their visit to Haridwar.
One can easily reach there by taking a rickshaw or a vikram that will drop you at har ki pauri. Try to negotiate with the driver as they over charge heavily.
