Maya Devi Temple, Haridwar
Maya Devi is one of the Siddhapeeths of Haridwar along with Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temple. It is believed that the heart and navel of Goddess Sati fell at the place where the temple is built. It was build in 11th century. Goddess Maya Devi, the Adhisthatri deity of Haridwar, is known to be an incarnation of power or shakti. Haridwar was previously known as Mayapuri in reverence to this deity.
Daksheswara Mahadev, Haridwar
Daksheswara Mahadev Temple is in the town of Kankhal, Haridwar. The present temple was built by Queen Dhankaur in 1810 AD and rebuilt in 1962. It is named after King Daksha Prajapati.
Neel Dhara
Neel Dhara Bird Sanctuary is situated on the Ganga river- Neel Dhara, at the Bhimgoda barrage. It is a home to many migratory birds during the winter season and thus a paradise for bird lovers.
Bhimgoda Tank
Bhimgoda Tank is situated about 1 km from Har ki Pauri. It is believed that while Pandavas were going to Himalayas through Haridwar, Bhima drew water from the rocks here by thrusting his knee (goda), at the ground.
